Cote De Duras White

A young, fresh wine with plenty of fruit. The crisp Sauvignon grape is softened by the roundness of the Semillon.

A lively, young, fresh wine with plenty of fruit. The crispness of the Sauvignon grape is softened by the roundness of the Semillon. Only available to customers aged 18 and over.

The Cote De Duras is a wine making area just to the East of the much more famous Bordeaux region. The climate, common grape varieties and techniques of wine making are very similar to Bordeaux, often giving very similar wines but at better value, and this wine is no exception.

It is made from a blend of the two most common white Bordeaux varieties, Sauvignon Blanc (which tends to give crisp, dry wines) and Semillon, which (which is known as more rounded, aromatic and characterful).
Dry, crisp wines work well with cheese as the acidity cuts through the fatty nature of the cheese.
The aromatic Semillon in this wine makes it a good bit more interesting than a lot of dry whites at this price.
This wine works very nicely as a base for fondue as well as for accompanying a cheeseboard
