The British Cheese Weekender - Cheese & Wine Mini Masterclass
If you would like to take part in the upcoming British Cheese Weekender, this pack is perfectly sized for a mini taster of great British artisan cheeses for 2-3 people. We'll be hosting a 'Mini Masterclass' with our friends at esteemed fine wine merchants Berry Bros. & Rudd as part of the British Cheese Weekender on Sunday 25th April - 7pm - 7:30pm.
To take part in this Instagram Live cheese & wine tasting, you'll need an Instagram account and to be available to login at 7pm on Sunday April 25th. 30 minutes is a short time to fully taste through the cheese and wines, so the focus will be on how best to pair wine with cheese - with guidance from our very own cheese expert and London Manager Annie Meakin and wine expert from Berry Bros. & Rudd; Olivia Bodle. The Instagram Live event itself is completely free to attend and open to everyone.
Your British Cheese Weekender Mini Masterclass cheese will be delivered on Thursday April 22nd in plenty of time for the session. The tasting pack will include a packet of our artisanal Cornish Buttermilk Biscuits for Cheese and the cheeses included in your Mini Masterclass box are:
- Berkswell 150g: Berkswell is pyreneean in style, with a rustic, orange-brown crust. It is renowned throughout the British Cheese Industry as one of the most delicious, consistent quality ewes' milk cheeses available.
- Golden Cross 100g: Made by Kevin & Alison Blunt in East Sussex. The farm is home to a herd of 230 Goats who are milked all year round producing the milk for this delicious, handmade, award winning cheese.
- Lincolnshire Poacher 150g: A vintage handmade cheese, made with raw milk from the herd of cattle grazed on the farm. Aged for about 20 months, this cheese is akin to Cheddar but with a more supple texture and spicy, meaty flavour.
- Stichelton 150g: Made to the Stilton recipe but using raw milk; Stichelton blue cheese has deliciously complex flavours that change with the seasons and develop with age.
Open a bottle of your favourite red and white wine, take your cheese out of the fridge an hour before the event, login to Instagram @Paxtonscheese and sit back to enjoy tasting along with the experts!
