Youthful fruit characterises this wine from Cotes de Duras, but it is balanced by depth of flavour making it an excellent wine for all occasions. Merlot predominates. Only available to customers aged 18 and over.
The Cote De Duras is a wine making area just to the east of the much more famous Bordeaux region. The climate, common grape varieties and techniques of wine making are very similar to Bordeaux, often giving very similar wines but at better value, and this wine is no exception.
It is made from a blend of the two most common Bordeaux varieties; Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Merlot gives more youthful, fruity reds than Cabernet. The soft, fruity character helps to balance the fatty flavours found in cheese.
